1.)  Who are your paintings for?
I paint professional and amateur bodybuilders, fitness models, and athletes all over the world.  People who
see their bodies as a work of art, and so find a painted work of art the perfect way to express their own
physical beauty.

2.) How do you paint on a computer?
Everything starts with a photo, usually provided by my clients.  Using  new digital technology such as a
computerized 'pen and tablet',  as well as state-of-the-art software, I lay down actual brush strokes much
like I would with traditional paint.  A special print called a 'Giclee' (pronounced zhee-klay) is then made
on canvas.

3.) How are your paintings different from filters in Photoshop?
It's the difference between machine made and hand made.  Filters are automated and only simulate a
painting.   If you apply a filter to a photograph, the computer will simply move pixels around trying to make
the photograph look like a painting.

I paint with actual brush strokes.  In addition, I am constantly making creative decisions about color,
composition, even complete background changes.  Things filters just can't do.

4.) What is a "Zhee-Klay"?
Giclee is now becoming the method of choice for fine art printing among galleries and artists, quickly
replacing lithographs and serigraphs.  Licensed Giclee printing specialists use hi-tech systems that apply
fine droplets of pigment directly onto canvas. Longevity, accuracy, and beauty are a few of the reasons the
Giclee method is now the gold standard for fine-art printing. Your painting will be a Giclee.

5.) What does "hand embellished" mean?
When appropriate, I personally put brush to canvas, hand varnishing your print for a gorgeous, brush-stroke
finish.

6.) Will you help me pick my photo?
That's a good idea.  You can send me several (or all) of your photos by post or e-mail and I will help you
choose the best one for your painting.

7.) What if I don't live in your area?
No problem.  Everything can easily be done via telephone, email, and FedEx.  You can have an original
Andrew Sokol painting wherever you live, anywhere in the world.

8.) Do you accept credit cards?
Yes.

9.) How much will my painting cost?
About the same as you'd pay a photographer for a retouched wall photo.  Because your painting is custom,
I can give you a firm quote after we've selected a photo and talked about the kind of painting you'd like.
